Analytics Portal
Task: Redesign and update the current portal while making the main content and information more legible. Clients should not have to relearn how to use and access the tool they have used for years. In others words at the hand off, they should be able to pick up how to use the new tool almost instantly.
Client: Project managers for a regional city. They run many projects and may need to be able to switch between portals seamlessly. They may have a few team members who may also need access to the portals. The reason they access the portal is to access quick data and statistics from the public engagement their sites receives.
Much like the Form Builder, the Analytics Portal also needed to be simple and easy for new clients to grasp, while also letting the experienced clients pick it up easily. The original design had roughly 12 Overview widgets, which we are able to edit them down to 6 as well as give the client a custom option if they require more. Another big change was to make the Engagement Map and the Engagement Chart more user friendly. First by eliminating unnecessary buttons and only focusing on the basics such as “zooming in and out” for both widgets and selecting either a timeframe or viewing different modes for the map.
